G7-Kulturminister verabschieden "Charta von Florenz"

Die erstmals in Florenz tagenden G7-Kulturminister haben eine Erklärung vorgestellt, in der sie sich zu einem verstärkten Schutz des Kulturerbes vor Plünderung, Zerstörung und Terrorismus verpflichten.

 

Im Dokument betonten die Kulturminister von Italien, Deutschland, Frankreich, Großbritannien, Japan, Kanada und den USA die Notwendigkeit zur Ergreifung effizienter Maßnahmen gegen die Plünderung von Kunstschätzen am Herkunftsort sowie gegen den illegalen Kunsthandel. Außerdem soll die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Polizeisystemen zur Bekämpfung des Kunsthandels verstärkt werden. Auch vor Naturkatastrophen solle das Kulturerbe der Menschheit besser geschützt werden.

UK — Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport;

 

US — Bruce Wharton, Acting Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of State;

 

UE — Tibor Navracsis, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth, and Sport at the European Commission;

 

UNESCO— Irina Bokova, Director-General

 

ICOM was represented by Vice-president Alberto Garlandini and France Desmarais, Director of Programmes and Partnerships.
