The 29th edition of the Ecsite Conference is hosted by the Natural History Museum of Geneva in partnership with CERN, University of Geneva Scienscope, and Campus Biotech.

Open to all professionals who engage audiences with science and technology, the Ecsite conference offers an intense mix of intellectual stimulation, experimental formats and inspiring human encounters. Sharpen your critical mind, recharge your creative batteries, harvest contacts and tools, make business and let off steam on the dance floor. Rely on our spotless organisation for all logistics and concentrate on contents and people!

The conference combines 3 days main conference offering 100 parallel sessions (7-9 June) and 2 days pre-conference with 10+ in depth trainings (5-6 June). Also look forward to 2 high-level keynotes, 350 speakers, 60 exhibitors, 2 dedicated tinkering and gaming labs, 3 evening social events...

Sessions have now been selected for the 2018 edition. Some of them are being refined by their organisers and speakers - they have until 27 January to polish their abstracts, speakers contributions, etc. The full programme will then be released when online registration opens on 14 February

The theme: Creative collisions

This year's theme is “Creative collisions”. In a society where thoughts, words and deeds are increasingly standardised, placing different worldviews on a collision course can be a source of innovation and creativity. Collisions are not necessarily destructive: they can produce new elements, forms, knowledge and energies. Science engagement offers a unique space to experiment with new creative collisions between science and society, experts and amateurs, science and politics, art and science, nature and culture, science and faith, real and virtual, old and new. “Creative collisions” is a stimulating concept that can help us reinvent communication, teaching, learning, and thinking!

NO MONEY? NOT NECESSARILY A PROBLEM

Ecsite is offering 12 free one-day passes to speakers bringing new ideas or perspectives.

NOTE ON ERASMUS+ MOBILITY GRANT

However, mobility plans submitted as part of the scheme cover two years: you can already include the 2019 Ecsite Annual Conference (Copenhagen, 6-8 June 2019) in your 2018 application.
